Do you have any resolutions for 2016 in MMOs?
Taken from Massively, join us on weekdays as we discuss the daily topic. Remember, the thoughts of the OP are not always my own.
2016 is almost here, and I nearly forgot all about it! It feels less like “New Year’s Eve” and more like “Thursday, get all of your writing turned in on time” to me. But it still means that the new year is about to kick off, which seems like the perfect point to start making some resolutions about what I want to accomplish over the next year.
Personally, I’m resolving to a be a bit more flexible in what I play. I tend to be very much the commitment sort, and that’s a good thing overall, but I’m noticing that there are games I miss out on because I’m unwilling to even dip into a game if I’m not making a six-month project out of it. That means I’m missing out on some things I could realistically experience; if I have no intent of ever worrying about endgame raiding in Star Wars: The Old Republic or Guild Wars 2, a month of dallying there as a side project is hardly going to kill me.
Of course, what this probably actually means is more of the exact same behavior in 2016, but at at least it’s a thought about doing something different. What about you? Do you have any resolutions for 2016 in MMOs?
