Re: World Cup 2010 - South Africa
Friday 11th June 2010
Group A:- South Africa vs Mexico 15:00 ITV
Group A:- Uruguay vs France 19:30 BBC
---
The opening game as is traditional will see South Africa open their World Cup against Mexico. Even though South Africa do have home advantage, and no doubt a massive, buzzing crowd, Mexico will likely be the favourites to win here. However, Mexico is no Brazil, and South Africa could get a shocking win here.
In the second game of the night, France open their tournament perhaps less favourited to win than in recent World Cups. They weren't expected to do well in 2006 however, and they reached the final. Uruguay have been solid in South America, but France should have what it takes to win this game, and probably the group.

Re: World Cup 2010 - South Africa
Day 1
Group A:- South Africa 1-1 Mexico
Group A:- Uruguay 0-0 France
South Africa didn't look so bright early on but came alive in the second. They were unlucky to draw the game, but judging by results and their performance, they shouldn't be too worried.
France played the better against Uruguay but just could not finish. Uruguay put up a fine defensive performance but were largely un-threatening. France have some work to do as they just don't look like they can score.

Saturday 12th June
Group B:- South Korea vs Greece
Group B:- Argentina vs Nigeria
Group C:- England vs USA
South Korea and Greece open in a very interesting tie with both teams fighting for the second spot in the group. South Korea who were Semi-Finalists in 2002, have done it when the expectation isn't there. So has Greece who shocked Europe to win Euro 2004. Both teams can be terrible or great, so it will be an interesting clash indeed.
Argentina kick off with a superb team but a questionable manager. Still many fancy them to go far in the competition, but they could be stumped against Nigeria, Africa's own. Nigeria will be hoping for a massive upset, and judging by Maradona's in-ability to get comfortably into the World Cup, that could be the case.
A nation expects as England kick off with a strong side, and strong manager, against USA. England will be strong favourites to win the group, but have been known to be shaky in World Cups. USA will not be expected to win, but do have some threats that could shake England.

Re: World Cup 2010 - South Africa
Spain have won the 2010 World Cup.
It is the first time they have ever done it.
Great performance, and a strong side, they deserved it.
