NJPW World Tag League 2014

New Japan Pro Wrestling are hosting it's event marathon tag tournament league, and it's like 2hrs 20 mins of pure wrestling every night! The best teams in Japanese wrestling, and other teams from around the world, compete in a tournament to find the best Tag Team around.

Please note, that WWE is NOT a part of this.

The way the tournament works is this, there will be eight teams per block, with two blocks. Each team within a block will wrestle each other once. The top two from each block advances to the Semi Finals, and then the two winners to the final. The team that wins that, wins the tournament!

Opening was a non tourney event and a nice warm up to get us started showcasing BULLET CLUB, the dominant faction in NJPW. They scored a big win here over some of Japan's finest.

The Kingdom (Matt Taven & Michael Bennett) defeated KUSHIDA & BUSHI.

Great to see Maria Kanelis taunting the upright and proud men of Japan with her sexy body, she certainly helped grab her husband's team a win.

World Tag League Block A Tournament Match

Opening bout and a surprise one as NWA's Iron Godz fell here against TenKoki, thought they would be better here.

The Killer Elite Squad featuring my own countryman Davey Boy Smith grabbing his win against alligned force Suzuki Gun which I believe are all under the BULLET CLUB banner, they shook hands at end, not surprised with this result.

Tetsuya Naito & La Sombra defeated BULLET CLUB (AJ Styles & Yujiro Takahashi).

Omfg wtf? AJ Styles, the leader of BULLET CLUB is beaten?! Naito looked brilliant and there was some serious evils by Styles at Naito. Very tough Block and bad start for BULLET CLUB.

6 Man Tag Team Match
CHAOS (Shinsuke Nakamura, Toru Yano & Tomohiro Ishii) defeated Togi Makabe, Kota Ibushi & Tomoaki Honma.

Fell asleep here too, was a filler match anyways.

World Tag League Block A Tournament Match
CHAOS (Kazuchika Okada & YOSHI-HASHI) defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi & Yoshitatsu.

The main event featured the IWGP Heavyweight Champion Hiroshi Tanahashi, and former WWE star Yoshitatsu. Honestly? Disappointing by the champion, but what a performance by Okada. He dominated this and grabbed victory. Very excited to see him wrestling next!

Nice win for BULLET CLUB 2, understand this is not the first BULLET CLUB, so I shall call them team 2. They defeat Iron Godz now in an all-american bash. Iron Godz have now lost their first two opening matches, bad start.

World Tag League Block B Tournament Match
Yuji Nagata & Manabu Nakanishi defeated Togi Makabe & Tomoaki Honma.

Pretty solid match here, Nagata and Nakanishi seem to be more comedy duo but winning their second match gives them serious contendership. Honma was very favoured by the crowd.

CHAOS were awesome. I have seen and heard alot of good shit about Nakamura and this was real good win against a good Killer Elite Squad. They will be disappointed not to win this, they go won 1 lost 1.

BULLET CLUB 3 (Bad Luck Fale & Tama Tonga) defeated Hirooki Goto & Katsuyori Shibata.

The third BULLET CLUB with Fale also grabbed an opening win here. Fale has a fucking sick appearence, and Tonga is a giant black dude, recipes for success!

The main event featuring my favourite Okada who is heavily liked by the crowd. Awesome match with Maria, the best looking Diva. She caused some shenagins, and Michael and Matt were good. Okada struggled to get the same offense, but had an awesome comeback to win 1v2 again. This guy is a fucking beast.

Great opening worth mentioning. The Americans opening by doing rock, paper, scissors to decide who starts. The Japanese and ref especially are like wtf? The Americans even taught them how to do it, really funny segment.

The Kingdom go up to 6 points with a very good win over a good team. This is a must win match and will see them even hotter now.

Surprised to see Suzuki-gun lose, but Shibata and Suzuki seemed to really hate each other, it was really gold when these two were in the ring. Goto and Shibata get their second win the league.

This was fun to watch as this inter-faction match came to a head. Unlike WWE you don't disband the moment you clash, they were friends going in, and respected each other going out. Big win for my Okada, as this means a top team lost, again.

Absolutely shocked to see CHAOS lose here, especially as they have been on fire. Fucking Yano's team is shit, so shocked. All the top teams are losing tonight!

La Sombra & Tetsuya Naito defeated CHAOS #2 (Kazuchika Okada & YOSHI-HASHI).

Un-fucking-believable! TenKoji lose, BULLET CLUB #1 lose, it was CHAOS' chance to catch up, and they blew it! This was the best match so far in the tournament, really really liked this and Naito's team did do well. Great performance but a shame Okada had to lose it. This now puts three teams on top of Block A on 8pts, with CHAOS #2 sitting on 6pts. If CHAOS lose again... They may not comeback.
