Starcraft II - Going for Master League

I have always enjoyed Starcraft II and like so many big headed fucks taut about how they played Warcraft since number 1, for once, I have played a game when it was a baby PC game in it's original, and loved that also. I would never say I was excellent at the game I just enjoyed it.

Recently I have re-started playing and lately I have desired to do my childhood favourite justice, by not only becoming good at Starcraft, but becoming the best. I have been stuck at 49th for a very long time in the Bronze League and would like to learn to play. My challenge is not only get a higher ranking (My highest was 4th bronze at release), but to get promoted all the way to the Master's League which holds the elite. In this thread you can follow my progress to the top. I shall do best of 9, first to 5 wins against me and my opponents.

Game 1 - TheHidden01 (P) vs Clem (T)

This was an enjoyable match because one of my weaknesses is scouting and in this match I got it right. I had a pretty large bulk of zealots in preparation for what may come, and I sent a probe quite a bit later than usual to scan, and it worked. He was building Banshees and Maurauders. Several continuous rushes of Collusi and stalkers mixed with observers for the Banshee's cloaking won me the match.

Game 2 - TheHidden01 (P) vs Juko (Z)

In this match I nearly took out his base three times. In the first rush I had lots of zealots but he has those acid spitting shits which is manouvered perfectly avoiding my attacks and shooting, moving, shooting. Second two times I had Collusi and Stalkers, but the tricky bastard used every trick in the book. Sending waves of buffed speed Zerglings to my base while going all out cost me the match here.

Game 3 - TheHidden01 (P) vs Clem (P)

Earlier I beat this guy in Game 1. This battle was amazingly well timed not because of skill but because of luck. Sending my usual rush of 20 Zealots against a man playing random, revealed this guy already had four warp gates and Immortals incoming. The build was strange however surrounding the path way to his base which gave me an open run to his probes. I took them and he tried to do shoot, move, shoot, move to avoid my Zealots, but if this tactic is done wrongly then it fails. His Stalkers were numbered to about 7 against my dwindeling and now 9 but still killed them because of poor moving. I moved down to the warp gates, killed some more stalkers and took at the Pylons for the Warp Gates. However, in came the Immortal he just made and boom Zealots down. It wasn't over though as just round the corner came my moderate army of about 5-10 Stalkers, killed the Immortal and beat him. He called me cheesy after that.

Game 4 - TheHidden01 (P) vs CoOk (Z)

Having taken a beating from Zerg infantry earlier, I didn't intend on playing the same style. Here I decided to go Void rays while rusing him with some Zealots. He did barely any attacking, but after sending an Observer I was over-joyed to see no anti air, and lots of those acid shits. They can't attack Void Rays, boom owned.

Game 5 - TheHidden01 (P) vs Kuan (P)

Had huge trouble scouting here as I couldn't find his base. It cost me the match as I didn't realize he was going Void Rays, easily and horribly beaten here.

Game 6 - TheHidden01 (P) vs Anima (Z)

This game I decided to do what worked last time and went straight for Void Rays. I wasn't exactly perfect with build order and it cost me, especially as I didn't have an expansion. I did however get the Void Rays and attacked. I had a small force defending of two void rays, 4 stalkers and 8 Zealots. I took most of his base, but as I did, he rushed and took out my defences (Not the void rays). The void rays slowed him but I lost all but two buildings. Fortunately though, I took all his with my Void Rays at his base.

Game 7 - TheHidden01 (P) vs nGine (P)

This is my proudest match I am so pleased with this way. I noticed in replays I get about 5 Zealots much faster than my opponents, and decided to send them in while building Stalkers in my base. The Zealots were defeated by Sentries and Stalkers, this guy wasn't going to piss about. Eventually he began attacking, and he came round the rear, and how in the love of god he didn't beat me I don't know, he about 10 Stalkers and 2 Sentries to my Zealots and Stalkers. I think the combination of mine worked. Now, sneakily I had noticed this guy was so gung ho, that I built a Dark Templar rush. I attacked and was right, no senors, not Robotnics factory, and I had won with four Dark Templars against what looked like ALOT of Stalkers

Game 1 - TheHidden01 (P) vs (P) nakedman

This game was over fast, the one match I didn't rush for Zealots and I got had. I lost this one very fast.

Game 2 - TheHidden01 (P) vs (T) embrouelle (P)

Was pretty event until I messed up severly. I sent the majority of my force to his base after I took out his Marine + Marauder rush and met some of his men on the way, because I had just clicked his base they just walked by. Before I could stop them, it was too late. My forces, now including a Collusus gave a good fight but he won the day. Bad start today.

Game 3 - TheHidden01 (P) vs (P) StayMetal

Finally picked up a win today when I saw that he had void rays and I had built stalkers with Collusi it was too easy. He had four void rays and I had about 15 stalkers so it was all too easy, good speed here I'm pleased with this.

Game 4 - TheHidden01 (P) vs (T) Manoxi

Really happy with this, he rushed me with Marines and I took them out, I concluded he must be weak and he was. I took his base with Zealots. He did rebuild after that but having flown away I prepped with Void Rays. I took his base tieing the day.

Game 5 - TheHidden01 (P) vs (T) mattidh

I went for Zealots earlier on and amassed a pretty big army than I normally do. I sent a wave to test the waters and saw he had one or two siege tanks with a couple of Marines and Marauders. I noticed however that my base had a rock formation, leading to minerals and more rocks to his base! With two immortals, four stalkers and 20 Zealots I broke through and tore him through the rear. Upon defeating him I noticed he spent alot on anti air turrets. It didn't help him here!

Game 6 - TheHidden01 (P) vs (P) Gullwacker

Got outclassed here, was planning on going for Dark Templars but was a bit slacky in build. He warp rushed me, and that was that, too much to handle and my forces were down, even when I had my warp gates pumping stalkers out.

Game 7 - TheHidden01 (P) vs (T) eddojado

This was a quick battle. While building my usual amount of Zealots he sent three marines. I have noticed every time a Terran rushes three marines that fast it normally means they are weak. I sent my four Zealots and broke through, I was right, he had two marauders. While sending 10 more up, he surrendered.

Did practically the same tactic as last match except this time he didn't rush me. He had an open base with one marauder... Too easy.

Well at the end of the day I won 5 lost 3. I had some real tough matches today, and struggled alot more, but victory is mine nonetheless. I'm now 41st which I am really pleased about also.
