Do you gather your own crafting materials?
I've been doing a bunch of gathering in Lord of the Rings Online lately. I'm trying to raise a couple of my crafting professions, see, and the auction house prices for the necessary materials are -- in a word -- ridiculous.
Not only that, but LotRO's gathering is a low-stress activity that I've always enjoyed, since it requires traveling throughout Turbine's ever-expanding version of Middle-earth and it's a great excuse to see the sights and snap a bunch of screenshots. Gathering's probably not for everyone, though. What about you? Assuming you craft in your MMO of choice, do you gather your own mats or do you acquire them some other way?

I mostly get all my mats myself. Also i sell them if im in real need of money. I dont mind collecting them since i think its rewarding. Just selling a stack of ores in gw2 is a nice income. And even if you dont sell it, it improves the stuff you can craft. And thats always nice
Ive also made alot of stuff in fiesta online. I used to go get mats like 2 hours or so and make the scrolls. I was one of the few that had it maxed and really enjoyed helping poeple with the items i made myself.
And in fiesta online i also sometimes got mats for free from others to make scrolls from. 100% of the mats would be used for the items and 100% of the items i made from those mats they gave i would give to the player. But i got points for making them. So win/win Most of the players who gave me the mats where real good friends ingame aswell ~
And like you mentioned. I also think collecting mats is nice and relaxing.
Greetings, Mika ~
