Do you prefer digital copies or boxed copies of games?
"Everyday we take the Massive daily posts and bring them to Dragoon discussions. We would like to thank Massively for their original content."
Long ago, you had one way of obtaining a new game -- you went to a store that carried video games and brought it home. The advent of digital distribution has changed that, however -- it's quite easy to pick up a new game on Steam or via download, with certain games like Global Agenda primarily seeing distribution via digital outlets. Considering that most games offer a client download and patches will frequently update the entire game anyhow, getting a box almost seems quaint.
Of course, if you're used to having a hard copy on hand, it might not even be an issue of whether or not it's worth buying a boxed copy. You want a game, you go out and buy it. So when you have the option, do you head out to the mall and pick up a boxed copy to have a physical representation of the game? Or do you just download and not fuss about with what amounts to sentimental clutter?

I used too, it feels better when you buy it from a store, and sometimes it's quicker if you are buying a bigger game. But downloading is far easier, and great if you just fancy a new game at 11pm when the stores are closed.
The best part of downloading though? Before Cata was released, they gave you the option to download the game BEFORE, so when release came, you just hopped straight in. It was great knowing I was doing that while those fat scrubs stood in line dressed as Blood Elves.

I love digital downloads, in fact Steam has made me so used to them I'll actually pay over the odds for a digital copy rather than a physical one. Physical copies just take up space and gather dust. My internet connection is finally reliable enough that downloads aren't a problem, and transferring backed up copies of games is much faster than installing from disc.
