parkour
free running...yes i know it very well..
i used to have a little free running crew before i moved...just the basics but still looked pretty effin cool..
trainers..anything thats comfortable to run in.good soul loose clothing, few friends, and a few chosen places to run till your hearts content..couldn't manage the hyper jump for some reason...found out the very hard way!!! : )
theres a few sites you can go to with training from basics to intermediate..
hurts ...but whatever you do..do it again and again and again..

Re: Parkour
Oh man I LOVE parkour! There are lots of videos on YouTube of people who practice it. Check them out...
Or if you wanna see a REALLY crazy guy doing parkour, watch the movie "District B-13" Or something like that... it's a french film, but the guy who does parkour, is pure insane!

Re: Parkour
parkour is a physical discipline (like martial arts) that gets you to go from point A to point B in the most efficient way possible (i.e. avoiding, overcoming, or manuevering your way around obstacles).
free running is basically the same thing just with flips and more focus on the aesthetics.
i've been doing parkour for a little over a month.
i like doing it alot.
thing is awhile ago i landed wrong and bruised my heel and found out that converse weren't the best shoes to jump onto concrete with.
as a temporary solution i bought some insoles and they work pretty well.
as a matter of fact, on monday of this week my buddies and i scaled a ten to eleven foot wall.
that was a pretty big accomplishment for us.

free running is like that.
parkour has no flips.

Re: Parkour
ok, so i had another pratice session today and i had a pretty sweet wipe out.
i tried doing a monkey vault
<object><param></param><param></param></object>
y'see how he goes to the middle of the table?
i usually start at the edge closest to you.
(the thing about parkour is there is no real "right" way to do stuff, just so you know. it's all a matter of style and what's most efficient for you)
and i wanted to try to go the middle/outer edge-ish and i clipped my foot on the top of the table and kinda slid off face first.
i scrapped my shin real good.
