Guild Wars Cooking Meets The Real World
In a new Forbes article, titled “Four ‘Guild Wars 2′ Recipes You Can Craft in Your Kitchen”, author Carol Pinchefsky has admitted she’s hungry, and it is Guild Wars 2 to blame. Sh’s become addicted to cooking in game, and can’t help but feeling hungry when she sees all those delicious foods. Upon reading this, I immediately sympathized, having suffered the same pangs of hunger as I leveled through this crafting discipline. In order to alleviate her hunger, she’s made a few recipes come to life. My favorite? Yams!
OWL OF SPICED MASHED YAMS (serves 4)
- 4 yams
- 1/4 cup of buttermilk
-4 cloves of garlic
- 1 inch cube of ginger root
- 1 or 2 tablespoons of butter
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
Optional:
Cayenne, curry powder, or turmeric
Preheat oven. Bake four yams at 350F for 45 minutes until soft. Remove skins. Crush four cloves of garlic and grate the ginger; saute garlic and ginger in oil until golden.Mash the yams with a potato masher. Mix in the sauteed garlic and ginger. Add salt and pepper to taste. Makes four servings.
Optional: If you like your yams extra hot, add cayenne pepper while you’re mashing. If you prefer them more flavorful, add curry powder or turmeric.
Just in time for fall. You can find her other creations here
