Beta Weekend Ends With Critter, Moa Rampage
Guild Wars 2′s first beta weekend event ended with legendary white rabbits, rabid raccoons and bloodthirsty moa birds taking on everything in their path within the game’s Norn starting area.
With around an hour left to go in the beta’s scheduled time, a level 80 group event was activated in Wayfarer Foothills titled “The Great Critter Hunt.” Instructions for the event told players to “prove your might to the norn and earn glory by slaying the rampaging critters throughout Wayfarer Foothills.”
The last half hour of the event was punctually noted by the introduction of level 19 and 20 Champion Bloodthirsty Black Moa birds that, among other things, lured foes to them and exploded into a fiery inferno. The level was noteworthy given that most players were leveled down due to the level restrictions of the area, which cap off at around level 15.
The ending of the beta follows a years-old tradition from ArenaNet with surprising its players in the final moments of the beta before taking the servers offline.
