Level 1 Stats and Attributes
After ArenaNet had announced the special bonuses for different editions and pre-purchases for each, there was a lot of buzz going around about “pay2win”. This specifically concerned and surrounded the “Hero’s Band” giving stats, as it would be an item that could only be obtained through a pre-purchase. So, when we here at Guild Wars Insider were permitted into this round of beta testing, I took it upon myself to show how ridiculous a notion that was.
The below video, hopefully, sets people straight on the matter. Every class has the exact same starting attributes, and has very little variance in their original stats. Implying that the +2 to all attributes, a measly 8% increase at level 1 and even worse as you progress, would somehow create a difference in power is ludicrous. The band is simply for show and bragging rights.
As should be obvious by now, ArenaNet certainly knows what they are doing. We’ve been, and will be, in safe and intelligent hands.
