Re: Superhero Movie Marathon
Batman Begins
Well, what can I say, for me this is one of the greatest superhero films I have ever seen. Christian Bale may not have been perfect in films such as Terminator, but in this film he shone as Batman. He did what no other shitty actor did before and that was bring ruthless, pain, anger, and heart to the character which embodies these traits. Batman is a very strong franchise and the previous movies made it look more like a joke, but just look at the cast and you can see this film has been taken very seriously.
The acting was superb across the board. Every character was not just part of one big plot like so many films, but each had their own morality, depth and deep personality, all viewing Gotham through their own ideas. The acting behind these was superb. Katie Holmes played a great role and was very real. Michael Caine who is loved in my country was brilliant adding a breath of fresh air to the film like he masterfully does to many films, and Morgan Freeman and Gary Oldman, two other great actors really shone also. Liam Neeson was beyond exceptional, bringing pity and eventually anger towards this strong and hardened individual. He has always been great for me, but this was his best role for me.
The movie itself was well-paced, it had a deep heart, a great Gotham City that was as ruined as it appeared. In the beginning you felt that no hope, and you felt the struggle of the common people which was very well done. The film was harsh, gritty, but towards the end you felt awakened with hope.
I wont go on, for this is too good for words.

Fantastic Four
I have seen this film a few times before so it was nothing new. Overall it's an okay movie, nothing great. I think the best thing about the movie is the action scenes perhaps. It's definately very modern and a very hip take on the series. But for me it just doesn't do. Jessica Alba is beautiful and isn't too bad I suppose, the Human Torch is great, but everything else, including Doctor Doom is just meh. For me Doom was the biggest dissapointment, he's supposed to be one of the most evil villains and he's just not good enough for me. The plot sped up to fast in the end, before you know it they have a simple fight with Doom and that's it.
Not brilliant really.

X-Men: The Last Stand
I had seen this film before. This is a strange film really, the events are HUGE, three major deaths, and some high clashing battles. The only thing is, for some reason, it just didn't feel like a big deal. It just didn't flow like it was as dark as can be. I can't quite put my finger on why, it had good action, deaths, and suspense, but for some reason, it didn't strike me as epic.
The action in this film was miles beyond the others, especially at the end, it was funny to see Vinnie Jones (Us English know him very well, especially football fans), especially when he was headbutting the wall. It was an interesting story, not bad all around really, and that's all I can really say.

Re: Superhero Movie Marathon
I loved Vinnie Jones when he tells Shadow Cat, "I'm the Juggernaught Bitch" and headbutts his way through the building chasing after her, great energy in that sequence that only Vinnie could bring to the big screen.

Re: Superhero Movie Marathon
hey guys just watched batman begins today I really liked it especially the part were he gets trained and just because of his principles he burns down the temple of his teacher it was also a bit unexpected at the end that ra's al ghul (prolly spelling it totally wrong XD) returned at his party while he didn't know it was ra's that he saved not duncard (think that that was his name) also the scarecrow was really nice done and the batcave really got a nice look i would most certainly give it an 8 or higher

Superman Returns
Having seen this movie several times it was nice again. Superman Returns wasn't a bad return but it wasn't brilliant. I thought Brandon Routh played a good Superman, but not a great Clark Kent which often happens. Lex Luthor played by Kevin Spacey was good, but it was a little over the top for a Lex Luthor, lacking that intensity or ruthlessness we so know.
Overall it was okay, but none of the actors truly shined, let's hope we get a better reboot.

Re: Superhero Movie Marathon
Comment about Spacey was spot on, I really like him but he didn't convince me in this one, I see Lex as more cold and calculating, also very confident (like in Smallville), not a high strung lunatic with insecurity issues. Also Routh was a convincing Superman but too cool as Clark Kent, he got the timid part well but didn't have the bumbling dork like qualities that Reeves could emanate on screen as Kent.
