tUB rING

so, this friday, i'm going to see my favorite band, tub ring, in chicago.

i still don't really know how i'm getting there, but it's gonna be great.

(and i'm looking forward to doin some parkour in the windy city)

hell yeah, i could get pics.

there's some.......controversy (i guess you could it) over how we're getting there

(train tickets that cost 67 bucks, bus that costs the same, or car that might fall apart while we're on the road)

and who's going (we have 2 tickets for sure, and 6 people want to go...and only five fit in a car....and only 4 can actually pay for their tickets without needing help to pay for them)

all this will be sorted out by friday hopefully.

we'll also get some videos of the trip there and back (takes about 3 hours) so it should be great.

ok, so i'll have pics soon, but here's part of the story.

we decided to drive to chicago using another friend of ours who has a car.

there are four people going total now, tyler, bren, jessi, and myself.

we tell the guy with the car, tyler, to pick us up during our lunch break at school and he completely forgets and jessi doesn't even show up to school.

bren and i hitch a ride with a really hot chick and go to tyler's school. we walk in and the principle is like "what can i do for you fellas?"

bren says "uhh, we need to see tyler"

principle replies with "he's in class right now"

i say "oh well we need to talk to him for a minute, it's a family issue"

he says "well you can tell me"

at that we were kinda stumped and bren goes "uh.....when does he get out of class"

he gets out in 15 minutes.

"well we'll wait for him" he says.

we step outside and we feel really stupid for what just happened.

we walk down the street like 'what the hell do we do now?' and we see tyler in the window and he gives us this, "oh YEAH! i forgot!" kinda look.

a little while later tyler's running up to us and he's like "the principle said there were these guys outside who said they needed to talk to me about a family issue and i said 'no, it's just my band....we're supposed to be in chicago right now getting signed. then he was like, 'well go, and don't say i ever stopped you from living your dream!"

that's part one of my concert experience on friday.

you just wait, it gets better.

all right so we're on the road and we get some mickey d's and we're cruisin for a real long time, singin along to the cds we brought.

no trouble getting there which was great.

so we finally get there and we walk over to the beat kitchen (the venue) and we try to go in to see what's goin on and they won't let us since they're setting up and stuff.

no biggie.

we decided to walk around and bren and i look for some coolio parkour spots.

we found this really lame park and that was about it.

i noticed that jessi kept walking ahead of us like she was looking to go somewhere, but i didn't feel like asking what was up with her.

we then find this army surplus store with these wicked lookin soldier statue guys and we got some pics of them.

we go inside and check around and were really tempted to buy rations, but we remembered we have concert to waste money on.

then we stop at a seven eleven and bren made probably the most disgusting slushie i've ever had in my life.

i think it was like dr pepper and black cherry and some other various flavors.

it had some bite to it.

we walked for quite some time.

tyler noticed all the tickets people got from parking in the wrong place and we laugh.

it started getting around time for the concert to start so we head back.

then jessi yells "dammit!" and she points to a pizza place that was a couple blocks down from the venue.

that was what she was looking for.

we walked all that way and completely passed the one thing she was looking for.



thus concludes part two.

part three gets even worse.
