Are there any hidden gems out there that you really liked but never seemed to get much exposure?

Mine would be Eldritch, a really hard game based on the Lovecraft mythos. It was incredibly fun and pretty hardcore since you lose all progress if you die and have to start from scratch.

The Matrix Online was hehe.

As for that I'm not really sure, I guess a few of the weird MMOs we have played like Age of Wulin could fall into this category.

ya like bdo and berserk is really awesome game dont look like it made a lot of sales yet sadly.

Cthulu saves the world is a fun little game, it's a turn based RPG where you incarnate Cthulu and have to save the world to get your powers back. It's rather funny and often breaks the fourth wall.
