Dragon (8/10) - "Good movie with nice characters and interesting story"

Wolverine (2013) - 7/10

Dr Louise (7/10) - "Not the best movie I have ever seen, better than the origins. A little bit too long in the ending. Seems like they could have done more with the other people, not just logan."

Dragoon Movie Club Empty Re: Dragoon Movie Club

Post by TheHidden01 Sat Nov 15, 2014 4:06 am

Dragoons!

The Movie Club is one of the popular destinations for the Dragoons throughout the week, but unfortunately time, and my work is catching up, and it means that more and more due to not only my work, but the way the voting goes, movies that should have been watched aren't. Movies such as the Hobbit 2 are being missed, even though there is no reason to miss them!

For the past year we have seen many movies, and I want to make sure that not only do watch the most exciting movies that all Dragoons want to watch, but we keep it varied, and upto date. That means from now on, there will be some changes, some of these maybe a bit annoying for those of you that like choice, but hear me out:-

1) All movies will be pre-selected by me
Firstly all movies will be pre-selected ahead of time by me, and they will always be the latest movies that came out. This is so we keep on track of key releases and don't miss them. Just as before if say, Transformers 4 drops, we will watch all of them in build up to it.

I know this may suck, but the choice 9.9/10 were always latest movies anyways, this just means instead of certain films being voted for and then missed due to lack of interest, ALL films get watched eventually.

2) All films will be announced on Saturday, whether I am here or not
For me, I can't watch every Saturday night, but that doesn't mean you guys can't, and that shouldn't mean that I have to wait weeks to watch films. From now one if I am at work Saturday night, Lulu will run the Movie Night for you all at 10pm.

I will still watch the movie, but I will either watch it the night before my day off, or the first night of my day off, depending on my work hours. This way you have an alternative. If you too can't be here Saturday, you can always join me then. I will just have to avoid this thread until I have watched it :p

---

That about sums it up really, I love movie night, it's one of the most under-rated events on our calender, and I want to make sure it remains celebrated, this way, we can guarentee not only consistancy, but exciting, varied, movie action, every single week.

We finished Gozilla last night grabbing it a disappointing 6.6/10

I felt the movie was alot more than that, just by the sheer scope and incredible scenes, but there we go, the Dragoons have spoken!

IMDb rating:- 8/10
Director:- Doug Liman
Stars:- Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt, Bill Paxton

It's been about a year since Tom Cruise was last in a movie and we did actually watch it as a guild, but that I think, wasn't reviewed for whatever the reason. Nonetheless Tom Cruise is back in a futuristic styled film and I am a big fan of his catalogue of work.

What better place then, than to watch it with you guys?!

Transformers (2007) - 7/10

Swim (7/10) - "Good plot, but too much shaky camera and too short fights. Good acting and comedy."
Dragon (7/10) - "Nice special effects, the jokes were funny but the fights were too short in my opinion."
Dr Louise (7/10) - "Wasn't looking forward to seeing this one, but now afterward I wouldn't want to miss it. "

If you missed movie night this time, don't worry! Second showing of Transformers will be on Wednesday 11pm.

Interstellar has not only destroyed everything in it's reviewing path, but with four viewers and everyone voting 10/10 it's tough to imagine that anything will ever top that!

Amazing film, and a true, unstoppable 10.

A different twist this week with our first comedy in fucking ages. I remember seeing this trailer in the cinema and it could be interesting especially as Will Ferrell is in it. Don't expect anything memorable, but could be a short laugh for a given evening in your week!

If you would like to watch it with me, I will be watching it on Saturday night at 2am, I know it's late, but I have work that day. You of course, can watch it anytime, just post in the thread here your review.
